Houston Catering Spotlight: The Ismaili Center Grand Opening

ismaili center in houston montrose

When Houston welcomed the Ismaili Center to its architectural and cultural landscape, it was more than the opening of a building, it was the celebration of a global community rooted in service, dialogue, and connection.

We were deeply honored for Traveler’s Table and Traveler's Cart to serve as the catering partner for this historic event, welcoming 600 distinguished guests, including community leaders, elected officials, and international visitors. It was a day that reflected everything we believe hospitality should be: thoughtful, inclusive, and designed to bring people together.

Designing a menu for 600 guests required careful planning and coordination. The event included a separate VIP reception for dignitaries and special guests, featuring composed small plates and thoughtful beverage pairings in a more intimate setting. In the main cocktail areas, we offered a range of globally inspired passed bites and station style selections that allowed guests to move freely throughout the space. With a mix of bold flavors and vegetarian friendly options, the goal was to create a menu that felt inclusive, balanced, and well suited for the scale of the event.

A Reflection of Houston

As one of the most diverse cities in the United States, Houston thrives because of the cultures, traditions, and communities that shape it. The opening of the Ismaili Center represents that spirit beautifully - a space designed for dialogue, education, and service.

For our team at Traveler’s Table, whose foundation is built on global exploration and honoring the hospitality we’ve experienced around the world, this event felt deeply aligned with our mission.

From Montrose to a landmark celebration, we are grateful to have played a small role in such a meaningful opening event.
