David Jones, General Manager of Traveler’s Table, grew up in Chicago, Illinois, but spent his early years in Orange, Texas. After completing six years in the Marine Corps, he came to Houston to study technology at the University of Houston. During this time, David began working in the restaurant industry at Pappadeaux, where he was promoted to and served on the management team for 7 years. Afterwards, David served as GM at McCormick & Schmick’s in Uptown Park, and he helped open their downtown location. Additionally, David served as F&B Director for The Grove, Area Director for Ashton Gardens, GM of Union Kitchen, and Director of Operations for Agricole Hospitality. His 20 years of hospitality industry experience includes a diverse mix of front of house service, upscale dining, event operations, and food and beverage direction. David is passionate about team retention, respect, and building relationships, and he is a firm believer that if you take care of these essentials, then you will have happy employees, happy guests, and a happy life!
